All parts are manufactured in the village where we grew up.
In them you will find inspirations from other times, with slight contemporary adjustments/traits.

We work on each model and we are lucky and happy to closely follow the creation of each mold, designed in an artisanal way, using traditional Portuguese goldsmithing techniques.

The creation of our pieces supports fair, local and sustainable trade.

 

The Brand

Janeiro Baião is a Portuguese jewelery brand.

Contemporary, punctually with traditional traits, elegant and sophisticated, it appears with a daring spirit and, at the same time, grace.

Janeiro Baião has its roots in a secular jewelery journey, which over time has been readjusted and freed and which now culminates in a progressive and influential brand, with a response to the most careful tastes.

Janeiro Baião closely monitors the creation of each mould, which is handcrafted using traditional Portuguese goldsmithing techniques, thus contributing to sustainable trade.

Our history

1899 - Our story begins with our grandfather João Maria, born in 1899. Returning from Brazil, still young, he gained a passion for jewelery and started this tradition that we now dare to continue.

1966 - Our father Manuel, aged 18, was finishing his military service and barely escaped from going overseas. When the troops were finished, he also wanted to continue the family tradition and in 1966 he bought a motorbike for 7 contos and left for Alentejo to learn the trade with his older brother.

This was his father's first sale – a pair of earrings that weighed 1.7gr - The moment that would keep his heritage alive.

2019 - We come together with the desire to walk our path. We are children and grandchildren of a legacy that must live on.

2021 - Today, times are different and beautiful pieces reach you in a different way.
